First, check the standard and number of input digits, and keep the white margins on the left and right wide. Please print large enough to maintain the aspect ratio, with high contrast between the black lines and the white background.
Review standards and inputs
There are multiple barcode standards such as CODE128, CODE39, EAN-13, and UPC, which differ in the characters and number of digits that can be used. For JAN/EAN retail products, there are conditions for the number of digits including the check digit.
Even if it looks like a barcode, it cannot be read if the other party's system does not support the standard. First, check the standards specified by the destination and the equipment used.
Do not shave left and right white margins
A blank space called a quiet zone is required on the left and right sides of the barcode. You cannot determine the start or end position of an image by cropping it to a minimum, or by moving it closer to a letter or border.
When placing it in a design, leave enough white around it. Place it on a transparent background and avoid situations where the pattern or photo will be visible later.
Inspect deformation, color, and resolution
If you change only the width or height of the image, the line width will be uneven. It is important to scale proportionally and not make it too small.
The base is a black line and a white background. Red lines, light grays, and low-contrast color schemes can be difficult to read. Avoid blurring caused by JPEG's strong compression, and use a format with clear outlines such as PNG.

Test with real terms and conditions
Even if it is readable on screen, the lines may be blurred when printed. Try it out with your actual printer, paper, and size, and read it with the scanner or smartphone you plan to use.
Curved containers will bend the bar, and laminate or glossy paper will reflect the light. Please check the location and reading angle as well.
