First, check the capacity of the original image and compress it from around 80%. If it is still large, reduce the image size and enlarge the text and face after saving to check.
Check capacity and usage before sending
iPhone photos are high resolution and can be several MB each. If you check the maximum number of emails and application forms, the number of copies required, and whether they are printed first, you will not lose more image quality than you need.
Leave the original image in the Photos app and only edit the copy for sharing. If the submission destination specifies a format such as JPEG or a pixel count, please make those conditions your top priority.
Try it little by little from around 80%
Don't compress the photo too much from the beginning, start at around 70-85%. It is easier to detect changes due to compression in hair, letters, and fine patterns than in flat areas such as the sky or walls.
Even with the same settings, the amount of storage capacity will decrease depending on the image content. Don't just judge by the ratio, check the capacity and appearance before and after processing displayed on the result screen.
If it is still large, reduce the vertical and horizontal size.
If the photo is only viewed on the screen, it may be lighter if the long side is about 1600-2000px. However, photos that need to be printed or checked in detail will be scaled down after checking the resolution required by the destination.
Strong compression and resizing at once makes it hard to know which is the cause of poor image quality. It is easier to adjust by compressing it first and then comparing it in the order of resizing.
Actually open the saved file
Open the saved image and enlarge the area you want the other person to see, such as the face, text, and product status. If you leave a little space instead of the maximum capacity, you can also accommodate the sum of multiple sheets and the difference when sending.
It is safe to use and date the file name to avoid confusing the file with the original. For critical submissions, first send one to yourself to confirm the display.
