Before sharing photos of your home or children, make a copy with location information removed. In some cases, the SNS may delete the file, but it is best to check the file before sharing rather than leaving it up to the service.
Photos contain information other than images.
Photos of your phone or camera may include EXIF information such as date and time taken, device name, orientation, and camera settings. If you allow location information to be recorded, latitude and longitude may also be included.
Not everything is dangerous. Date and time information is useful for organizing photos. However, it is important to choose the information to be kept depending on the scope and purpose of disclosure.
Photos you especially want to consider deleting
We will treat photos of your home, school, places you regularly go to, private events, and photos of your children with care. Even for flea market listings or blog images, if you don't need to tell where the photo was taken, it's a good idea to remove the location information.
For photos taken at work, the company name and model name may also be subject to handling rules. Please check your organization's regulations.
Create a shared copy instead of the original image
If you delete metadata, you may not be able to sort by shooting date. We recommend keeping the original in your own storage and sharing a deleted copy.
After processing with the tool, change the file name to a recognizable name such as "share" to prevent confusion with the original.

Don't leave everything to SNS
Many social media platforms delete some metadata when posting, but the specifications may change, and DMs and file transmissions may be handled differently. If you delete the file before sharing, it will be less affected by the sending method.
Things you can check during the deletion process
The current tool draws the image to the browser's Canvas and re-exports it as a new image. This method does not copy the EXIF area of the original file.
