Distortion occurs when ratios change
Even though the original image is 4:3, if you change the width and height separately to 16:9, the people and circular logo will stretch horizontally. This is caused by changing the width/height ratio, not the number of pixels.
If you want to preserve the shape of your photo or logo, enable Fixed Aspect Ratio and use either the width or height as the reference.
Should I leave the whole thing or fit it to the frame?
If you want to keep the entire image, a margin is required if the specified frame and ratio are different. If you want the image to fill the entire frame, crop the top and bottom or left and right sides.
Since the proportions are fixed for SNS posts, a cropping tool that allows you to adjust the position of important faces and text is suitable. Avoid simple transformations.
Be especially careful about images with logos and text.
Even the slightest deformation can make a photo of a person look strange, but the deformation is even more noticeable when it comes to circle or square logos and letters. Check whether the circle remains a circle after the change and whether the character width is unnatural.
When matching to the A4/A3 ratio of printing paper, first decide whether to transform the entire image or use cropping or margins.
Align with the original image after saving
Line up the before and after changes and compare the faces, logos, perfect circles, and letters. Also check the vertical and horizontal pixels of the image information, as the display app may be automatically scaling it.
Even if you save with the wrong ratio, you can start over if you have the original. Save the original image as a copy with a descriptive name without overwriting the original image.
